Since this is the new year I thought I would start of by setting my goals for 2008. I have a strong belief that you cannot obtain success without first defining your objectives and then working towards achieving them.
Catchup on new technology/tools
Over the past year I have been a little lazy and have not spent a lot of time keeping up with new tech. My vow for 2008 is to catchup on what I missed. Some of those are:
- ASP.net MVC (I know, it just came out)
- Ruby/IronRuby (when it is our)
- More WPF/WFF stuff
Attend more conferences
Last year the only thing I attended was MOSSCamp in Chicago. I wanted to attend the initial Alt.Net event in Austin, but due to work issues I could not. Here are a few on my list.
- CNUG meetings
- An Alt.net event
- Microsoft PDC
Get more involved in the .Net community
One of my goals for 2007 was to start blogging and try to work my way into the community. I feel I have done this a little, but I really would like to give it more effort this year.
I would like to start blogging more about the new tech I am playing with. I would also like to start more blogging on the theory side of development.
In 2007, I think I only completed 1 book. Shame on me for that. I am currently compiling a list of books I would like to read, and I have find a way to make time in my life to read them.
Finish my MS Cert's
Since I already passed the first cert on the MCTS path, i might as well take the next one and get it done and over with.
Till next time,
