Chicago Code Camp call for Speakers

In a prior post I announced that we are putting on a Code Camp on May 30th in Chicago brought to you by the ChicagoAlt.Net group and Lake County .Net UG.  In order to create a great event, we need speakers.  So count this as the official call for speakers for the Chicago Code Camp.  Right now we have a temp site put up at http://chicagocodecamp.pbwiki.com/ but we should have the real site up ASAP.

What we are looking for in speakers….?  Simple, kick ass, passionate developers who love to teach others on the cool stuff they are doing.

What type of content are we looking for….?  Simple, you name it we want it.

  • Development Practices/Craftsmanship
  • .Net
  • Ruby (Rails)
  • Java
  • PHP
  • Sharepoint
  • iPhone
  • … fill in the blank

Unlike other coding events that have been put on in Chicago, this event is geared towards all development communities.  We are looking forward to creating a multi-language, multi-discipline event to end all events.

If you are someone that would like to present, please send me an email at derikATgraudo.com .  Please include in this email the following information.
Your Name
Your email
Your Company (if u want that info out)
Your Bio
Your Abstract(s)

We will announce the sessions and the speakers at the end of April.

Thanks, and lets rock this event

Till next time,

Yeah, I wont have to drive to the Twin Cities to go to a code camp! I hope this works out. The 6 hour drive is kind of a pain. =P

Topic Suggestions (even though I probably won't end up showing up):

- JQuery Basics

- Tableless Design - how to use divs and advantages and why all developers should be doing this to make their lives better and easier

- Creating a Build Process (Best Practices and how) with both TFS and Subversion.  Some of use have never done builds because typically you have an architect lead doing them or a person dedicated to handle builds on your development team.  Personally I'd love to know more about best practices and pitfalls people have come across in their own experience and know how to setup a build in terms of what has worked for them in their particular scenario

Actually, since this is on a Saturday, I'll be there.  Good stuff!
