In order to put together a post on Code Contracts i needed to install the latest version on my laptop, but because I was too lazy to shutdown VS prior to running the install and because there is a bug in the installer (see here) I received the following error upon trying to create a new project in VS2010 (ultimate RTM version).

The good news is per the post above, simply restarting windows (oh, I am running Win7 ultimate) solved my problem.  What I do not know is if the root cause of the problem was that I had VS open during the install (I know, I should know more than to leave it open) or if there is simply a bug in the installer.  My Advice to you is to close VS prior to the install just to be on the safe side.

So, long story short is if you get the above message reboot your pc and you should be right as rain.
