Thank You Activision! King’s Quest Lives On!

Some months back I blogged about “The Silver Lining,” a King’s Quest fan project that’s been in development for almost eight years.  I was upset because Activision, after acquiring Vivendi-Universal, decided to shutdown the project. Well, it seams that things have changed! Activision has granted Phoenix Online a full non-profit license to release all five episodes over the coarse of 2010. Thank you Activision! You did something really good. In about 20 minutes from now, Episode 1: What is Decreed Must Be, releases to web.  Here’s the list of episodes planned in the series:

Episode 1: What Is Decreed Must Be
Episode 2: Two Households
Episode 3: My Only Love Sprung From My Only Hate
Episode 4: ‘Tis In My Memory Locked, And You Yourself Shall Hold The Key Of It
Episode 5: A Thousand Times Goodnight

Can you tell I’m excited?! Counting down the minutes…

Was always more of a Space Quest fan myself, but am happy that Activision were sensible in the end about this. Will certainly be giving it a go,
