Talk: Stop Programming JavaScript by Luck

Last Saturday I had the pleasure to present a JavaScript talk at the Iowa Code Camp. The talk was Stop Programming JavaScript By Luck and it tries to highlight some of the most puzzling differences from your mainstream programming language (read: C#, VB, Java.)

I'd like to thank all that came to the talk and the Code Camp organizers for inviting me. Here are the video recording and the slide deck.

And the slide deck.

See, this is what I mean. You encoded your video and it looks great. I do the same thing and it turns into a grainy indecipherable postage stamp. Maybe you could do a blog post about encoding videos from code demonstrations! :)

@Mike, I really don't do much of anything sophisticated. Because my camera records in .MP4 using an encoder that Windows Movie Maker doesn't understand, I have to transcode the files to .AVI+another encoder. For that I use Pazera ( and then just drop the .AVI's in Movie Maker, add titles, credits, etc, then publish to a local file choosing the desired file size (< 500 MB for uploading to Viddler in my case.)
