Well, Christmas are coming, so this special time I can allow myself to publish some charity.
Jamie Cansdale wrote about software charity auction on his blog. Action is designated to support the charity Wells for Zoë, an Irish charity set up in 2005 dedicated to provision of safe drinking water in Africa. There is a letter, Jamie recently sent to MsWebDev list:
I have recently organised a charity auction to raise money for a safe drinking water and irrigation project in Malawi. My father was in Malawi earlier this year as technical advisor for the project. He was very impressed with the progress that has been made and the dedication of the people involved. To date the project has been funded almost entirely by the founders of the charity. Now the project has hit its stride, a little extra funding could go a long way.
The software auction only has 2 more days to run. Much of the software is currently setting at a fraction of it's retail value. Here is an opportunity to have a positive impact on many people's lives and pick up some quality software at the same time. The software up for auction is as follows:
MSDN Premium Subscription with Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite x 3
SourceGear Vault x 9
TypeMock Enterprise x 5
DXperience Enterprise
CodeRush with Refactor! Pro
Shell MegaPack.Net x 3
Thycotic Secret Server 10 user license
Syncfusion Essential Studio/Grid/Tools
