One of the changes last time was a new job. At mid of April I've started in MessageLabs in Gloucester as a Software Engineer. For most of us that name connects to small footer we can see sometimes in emails. That's it. Company is working on security, antivirus and antispam solutions. That email footer comes from one of the services.
New post is quite challenge for me. I will be no longer working on web applications as it was before. My assignment is to maintain and develop configuration API. As that is served as a Web Service I will have a lot stuff to learn. Target is .NET 3.5 and WCF, so there will be some exciting time. I hope.
Now, when I'm writing that post a few weeks passed. I'm still exciting on what I'm doing and that's a good sign I presume. That was big change for me. So far I was working in small companies with few developers. Now I found myself in big organisation. That is definitely something new for me. There are so many things to do for me from coding new API version to organising development. I was surprised that people here are not using continuous integration at daily basis. That's even bigger challenge for me and I will also work on setting up all agile methodologies from the very beginning. I'm so excited.
If any of you is interested in internet security matters should take a look to Message Labs Intelligence Reports here and especially one about targeted attacks. On induction training, our Chief of Security show us presentation which was mainly based on that report. I've never realised that it can be so cool and so different that other reports you can find.
